The System is on its Own

The forest ecosystem has no distinction between a governing and a non-governing part. It does not consist of a system world and a living world. It is one world. There is no outside steward or guardian as part of the system. The forest manages itself. The forest is on its own. An ecosystem is on its own.

The distinction – used in management literature – between a living world and a system world does not exist within a forest ecosystem.
